protein powder in warm water

A strange practice i have done since i have been consuming protein powder is to mix it with warm water. i initially did it to try to make it mix better, and soon found that for some odd reason, i prefer it that way. im not talking boiling water here, i mean lukewarm water, maybe about 100-120F. is there any reason why this would breakdown the powdered protein or make it any less effective?
 
as far as i know it should be fine. ppl say dont heat it up in the microwave as that could make it less effective or cooking with it.
