Hope I'm in the right category here. Anyway have gone from 187 to 165 since August 2010. My methods are eating good fats, coconut oil, avocados, some raw nuts. Lots of greens, especially raw spinach. Lots of protein eggs, good lean cuts of beef, and much chicken and turkey.
Also have been recording everything I am eating.
Have found that protein really works for me to keep from getting the munchies.
Have been concentrating on trying to keep insulin response in check, not a diabetic but have heard insulin production is what increases body fat.
Lately have been doing the slo carb diet as found in the book The 4 hour Body. Have found the protein plus the legumes very effective in controlling cravings. Also love the cheat day allowed. My last cheat day I consumed 4,500 calories which included one whole can of mixed nuts and two large pieces of apple pie alamode two of my fav foods.
Exercise 3 times per week mostly inline skating and some on a gazelle.
Am 5'11" and 67 yrs old.:newbie:
