problems making and sticking to goals

I've been quite depressed and stressed out for awhile and have not been to the gym in ages..I tell myself almost all the time I'll go to the gym tomorrow as my goal, and I'll wake up and won't even attempt...I don't know if it's the fact that I am depressed or the fact that it's across town and I rarely get a drive..I just need some advice on what some people to make goals and stick to them..I know I'll need discipline and **** loads of since I haven't had it much in my life..

I've tried multiple things...
-going with a friend
-going with several friends
-going at different times during the day/night
-going when I feel half decent and not depressed, but then come home worse than the day before..

I mean I love working out and want to get back into it, but if this keeps up I think it'll be lost from me forever:mad:

Whats up man? Been there and done all of that. In the end, its a vicious cycle. You sit there, being bored, lazy...depressed about whatever, and it doesn't end til you change it. You got the throw a wrench into your day and jumpstart it. Go to the gym once, you feel better all day, energized. You wake up, you are sore...but you feel better, you love it, and then you do it again. Thats what worked for me. You are the only person who has complete control over whether or not you stick with it.

Also, thumb through some of the before and afters on this website. You will see 100 people who were in your exact same shoes...and decided to do something about it. Personally, that gives me the most motivation.

Good luck man! Get to the gym!!!

yeah...I think the main reason was because I started smoking alot of dope..which gave me a better feeling then the workout feeling...now i smoke a percy doob and barely get stoned so i'm quitting cuz it's a waste of money..
