Hi everyone,

Just getting a little worried as I am off on holiday to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand for a month and cannot guarantee that there will be a gym in the resorts I am staying in as I am going mid-budget for my accomodation. What tips can you give me to keep my weight down whilst on holiday? I am not much of a running outdoors person and would not feel very secure doing that in an unknown area as it is.

As I am off for a month, it is a substantial amount of time and I dont want the kilos piling on. As it is, I notice that I lose toned-ness if I go with out for a week or two....so what can you suggest????

Thanks!!!!

Scarlett

buy a jump rope and skip rope at the resorts? Do squats, lunges, pushups, jumping jacks, all those calisthenic things will help. Take exercise videos or dvds?

Eat lots of veggies and beware of sauces.

Hello dear... so you're going on holiday and you're upset about this?
What about long walks at sunset? Walking on the sand is a very good exercise!

Swamp yankee calisthenics modified for the hotel room:

Use the hotel/motel stairs as your own personal stairmaster. Do three sets, three floors.

Chair lifts: Sit in the chair of the hotel, place the complimentary bible (or, if not provided, the city phone book) on your ankles (feet turned up.) With knees slightly bended, do twenty to fifty lifts.

Bed jumping: this is probably the only place I would ever tell my kid it's okay to jump on the bed. It's a good way for kids to get their wiggles out - why not us adults?

The jarring wake-up: Place the phone on the other side of the room. Have the front desk give you a wake up call. Tell them to keep it ringing til you get out of bed.

Where's my room?-athon : Go down to the lobby. Put on a pair of dark glasses. Spin around three times and then go try and find your room. Double fitness points for going to the bar for a shot or two first, then trying to find your room. Negative points for drinking heavy calorie drinks first.

LOL Indigoiis your suggestions made me laugh. Yeah think i may pack a jump rope and use that to keep the cals off, also will do some musculation as suggested...just hope it will be bearable in that tropical heat!

Thanks so much guys!
