Pre/post workout meal, trying to gain, bulk

Hey everyone,
So i am 18 yrs old at about 6 1 165. I am wondering what would be the best thing for me to eat for pre and post workout meals. From what i've read, you want to maximize carbs and keep the fat down in order to have energy for a hard workout. Exactly what are some common foods that i could eat to help out for pre workout meal? And for the post workout meal. From what i understand from reading, you want to again take in a good amount of carbs and same with protein, except with whey protein not slow-digesting protein if you will. I feel i should be around 170-180 being 6 1. I have a very fast metabolism and its very hard for me to gain weight. I just need someone to sort of point me in the right direction when it comes to pre and post workout meals. Thanks in advance !
