Power lift vs. Reps

Along with a bulking diet to build muscle is it better to power lift or do a longer work out with alot more reps?

I have heard power lifting builds strength and doing a long more repetion work out builds muscle?

Or does it not matter, whatever kicks my butt the most is the best for building muscle.
 
Do both. For example:
mon- upper heavy/max
tues- lower light/rep
wed-off
thurs- upper light/rep
fri- lower heavy/max
sat- off
sun- off

Or
mon-upper heavy/max
tues- off
wed- lower- heavy/max
thurs- off
fri- upper light/rep

mon- lower- light/rep
tues- off
wed- upper heavy/max
thurs- off
fri- lower heavy/max

etc
This way you get to work on getting stronger and gaining mass at the same time.
