Post Work Out Energy Supplement

Hello,

I just started to work out about a month ago. I always work out in the morning at around 7 am and I'm usually pretty tired afterward. I went into a Vitamin Shoppe and they suggested I try Battle Fuel by Muscle Pharm. I didn't realize though that it has sucralose in it and I'm allergic to all the artificial sweeteners out there.

Does anyone know of a good energy supplement that doesn't contain artificial sweeteners?

Thanks

Why not just plain, unsweetened whey protein? (Or flavoured if they use actual sugar.) You do not need the extra crap in most combination supplements.

My bad. I completely glazed over the word "energy". It's been a long day.

But yeah, you still don't need any supplement for energy. Combine your protein with ample amounts of carbs and some fat, and that's really all your body needs to recover. Real food should be able to cover that for you. If you're that tanked and still have no energy for the entire day after a workout, there's likely something wrong with your diet.

Are you dehydrated? I work out first thing in the morning and I found drinking a lot of water (2 16 ounce glasses 20-30 minutes apart before the workout and another 16 ounces right after) helps me a lot.

The best sports drink is not the store bought stuff, but some protein, fat and carbs. One of the best, quick and easy combinations I found is a whey protein shake, a banana, and a grapefruit.
