Possibly as dumb question

ok...i know this seems to be a little weird, but im going to ask anyways! lol

If you are eating one of your meals....and you are a fast eater...it always seems that you are not full and tend to over ear.(well some of us...or did)

What if you was to chew your food 20-25 times? So it registers to your brain and stomach..."OK HERE IT COMES!! BOMBS AWAY" Will you actually get the feeling that you are full quicker? which in returns means that you wont eat as much in one sitting?

I know...seems weird but I just had to ask...lol

I try to eat slow especially treats just to savour the taste has opposed to blindly eating yourself fat lol

You're right, and haven't you ever heard, you're supposed to chew your food 24 times before you swallow. That's what health experts have always recommended!

It's for a few reasons:
(a) The one you mentioned - you get fuller, faster. Eating quickly makes you require more food to be satisfied.
(b) You absorb the food better - the food is easier to break down, you absorb more of the carbs in your mouth, and once it gets to your stomach it can be digested fairly quickly if it's broken up thoroughly in the mouth
(c) You get to actually enjoy your food, increase your sensitivity to flavors, and you get the same satisfaction from eating boiled red peppers as you do from a greasy, salty Big Mac!

yeah it's true, you're supposed to take your time when eating supposed to help everything. it's a habit i havent been able to aquire, yet, though. looks like feedin' time at the trough at the dinners at my house, LOL!

I read some where eating slower also helps us eat less simply because it takes our brains 20 mins to get the message we are actually full.
