Possible Bicep tendon injury

I'm not sure what Ive done, But did a set of preacher curls and was fine. Went to the bar and did a "Very Wide" grip, I should have trusted my feelings and stopped. I could feel intense pressure up near my shoulder.

I did a set on the bench. Then the pain was too strong so I went home. Its sort of directly under the outer part of my clavicle. It hurts when I lift my elbows, and doesn't seem like a muscle. Have I possibly torn a bicep tendon?

What could I do differently to prevent this? Was I too wide on the bicep curls, too heavy for too wide. There was intense pressure on the shoulder region when doing it. I guess my main motivation was to ensure all parts of the bicep were attended to.
