I am 39 yrs 5'6 190 pound. I been pounding weights for a long time off and on I would go a year and quit for two, go 6 month quit for a year and so on.
And I never get to my goal.
My goal today is getting into my old pant 34 I am a 38 today not only that I want to be fit. Fitness is my mind set not Body Building
I started my workout again last Friday and instead of trying to out lift the guy next to me I am trying things different and if there is anyone that can help me and that can add to this I am keeping and open mind and I thank you in advance.
I start with an half hour of weight taining then I cardio for 20 mins then I swim 10 laps my diet is carbs up till 2pm I have six small meals daily starting with old oatmeal in the morning. Whey protien after each meal name is (Body Tech-whey tech) no pills.
 
How often are you doing that routine? And after a litte while you should change routines. Or at least change the order and days.
 
Sounds like a really good routine. You have to stick with it. I did the same thing for a while (lift weights, cardio,etc off and on for a couple years) and in the last year Ive been hitting it steady, and have seen results like Id've never imagined.
 
To build some lean muscle and/or preserve what you have you probably shouldn't do cardio right after weight training. Most people alternate IE Monday weights, Tuesday cardio. Start counting cals too.
 
Lift weights 3 days. Unless your advanced. and you can do cardio for 2-3 days. All working up in increased volume VERY slowly and gradually.
