Hello All
I am lost when it comes to weight loss wondering if you guys can help.
I am 37 300lbs 6'2
two years ago I was 220 quite smoking and someone just threw fat on me lol.
I have a membership to the gym that I don't go to it also has a swimming pool.
I eat like a horse and I am always tired . I got blood test back everything is negative. I would love to get back down to 220 but I can never find a workout routine that helps me. I have dieted and worked out two months straight and didn't lose a pound. I have even thought about getting the stomach wrap but want to stay away from surgeries. if you guys have any info that would be great I don't know what to do as of right now.

While exercise can help you to control your weight - its impact is generally not as big as the food / drink side of things...

If your weight has been gaining - it is because you have been consuming more fuel than you have been burning...

It is really easy to eat a treat that is say 600 calories - but one heck of a workout to burn 600 calories... Therefore - it is important to control the food / drink side of things...

I would not dream of considering surgery for a mere 80 pound desired loss... I say this as someone who dieted away over twice that a few years back...

You say that you have dieted... Did you count your calories? If you were - were you counting them accurately. How did you decide on the calorie level?

How did you decide what food to spend those calories on? How much protein were you having? Were you tracking your other macro-nutrients too? How much sleep were you getting? All these are linked to you being tired.

If you are a member of a gym - you should be using it in some way or it is a waste of money.

I did not count the calories I don't even know how to count them lol. I would take protein shakes for meals at times. but I would still eat big salads and tried to stay away from carbs.

I have a free account that I got from

There are other similar tools out there...

Simply create a free account and set up your profile information (things like age, weight, gender, activity level etc). If you set yourself up as sedentary - you can then log in all your exercise and it will work out how many calories you are burning...

You can also log all your food and drink... It has on file all the basic things - and you can create custom foods for packaged food that you use - setting up the data printed on the package... Once things are set up - they are on the system for you to use into the future - so it isnt as onerous to use as it may appear at first...

Then you simply log your food and it tells you not only the calories that you have eaten - but the nutritional breakdown of it - so that you can easily see whether you have had enough protein - or indeed any of the other categories in your nutrition - eg fibre, healthy fat, unhealthy fat, sodium, calcium.

It is well worth being calorie and macro aware - especially if you feel that you are working hard but not getting results.
