I am currently 157.5. I am going on a cruise with my family AND...my boyfriend who hasn't seen me in a swimsuit yet!! The trip is October 19th this year, and I am looking to be 120. I think that will not be obtainable since it is 3 months, 19 days away, but I hope. I lost about 60 pounds fairly easy, but it is VERY hard now to lose more!!! I need any advice or tips. I would be happy with even 145 or less for the trip. Anyone who has had luck with weight loss when they got fairly low, let me know what you did!

Thank you everyone!

I have lost about 20 pounds since mid March which is much the same timeframe and as you can see I am deep into a long term project. I think that is a pretty good rate of weightloss for the stage that I am at.

In mid February I was unhappy with my rate of weightloss - as you would see if you checked out that chunk of my diary. I lost 3.8 pounds over the whole month of January.

I basically mulled over what I was doing and eating. I concluded that there were several things that I was eating every day that were doing me no favours. I therefore reworked my food plan - even though part of me did not want to change a food plan that had served me well over a number of months of really good weightloss.

I went through the new plan analysing it for protein, fibre etc as well as calorie content and checked that the calories seemed to be pitched at about the right level.

I suggest that you feed what you are eating through fitday and see where you stand. It can be easy to get blase about something that we have been doing for a while - and cut corners.

About a month ago I was talking to someone about rate of weightloss - in real life - not on the forum. She said that sometimes she believed that we did not lose weight or lose so much weight because we gave ourselves permission to do so. I contested this at the time saying that I work equally hard maintaining a consistant exercise level which is quantifiable via my pedometer and by eating basically the same food. I suspect that I may have been more vigilant with my food since - but am pleased to say that I have lost more weight in the past month than I have done for several months.

The only other thing that I can add is that a month and a half ago I joined a local slimming club. I did this in preparation for maintenance as it will benefit me to get free membership at goal, information and support through maintenance and the accountability of a structure whereby I get weighed regularly by a third party. It has been beneficial talking to a group of people who are all conscious of their weight - and it has encouraged me to try new food items.

Good luck for losing weight well over the time before your holiday. I am sure that your boyfriend will think that you look great in that swimming costume - and you can know how much better you look for the weightloss that you have already achieved and that which you will achieve. Confidence can be a major factor in the way that we project ourselves. Feel good about yourself and you will outshine many with a slightly better BMI.
