Please help me...

Im 20 years old, horrible shape. I weigh 230lbs, and am around 5'9. I eat way to much. Just today, I woke up, ate 3 servings of oatmeal, ate a roast beef sandwich, dranks like 3 cokes, got off work, at an ultimate jack burger and a large fry, then got home and ate some ice cream. I know this is extremly unhealthy, and I cannot help it. I am constantly hungery, and anything relativly healthy makes me vomit (no joke). I want to get into shape, but I need to change my diet. Does anyone ahve any suggegustions? How can I fill myself up, and be healthy at the same time. I also need ideas for cardio. I was one of the kids in school that ran a 12 minute mile and about collapsed. I just dont think I can do it. I think Im destined to weigh 500lbs. I tell myself every day I am going to change, but I wake up and what do you known, ims starvin. Thanks for reading this,
Jared

I'm not an expert by any means but I'd say drink more water ... i drink water when i think i'm hungry alot and it helps ... also u could eat lots of fruits ... like apples fill u up a lot. U just have to decide to do it and help yourself .. kinda like quitting smoking ... just set goals until ur where u want to be ... once u start for a week or two and start to get into the routine... its easier to eat better and get to the gym ... when you see the 400 calories burnt after a long session of cardio ... stopping for a jumbo jack thats probably more than 400 calories doesnt sound as inticing:) Noone is destined to weigh 500lbs ... u can do it ... if i can and allllll these other people then u can too ... u just gotta control yourself ... ur mind is a muscle ... train it :)

Salad,salad salad(without dressing), water and moderate protein. Light weights. As the muscle mass will increase the fat will start burning off faster and faster.

ok... One thing at a time... KB42 is right about water.

NUTRITION
========
You need to make slow adjustments... Do not start eating only raw vegetables tomorrow. How about starting by getting rid of the sodas. So, for the next week, continue to eat the way you have been, but each day, drink water instead of soda.

Then, next week, you can do away with the roast beef breakfast.

Eliminate 1 awful food and replace it with something healthy each week.

WORKING OUT
===========
Cardio will help burn the fat, strengthen your joints and improve your overall health. But, weight lifting will add muscle which in turn will increase your metabolism and burn more fat while you are doing nothing. So, you need to do both!

CARDIO -
Start (as above) slowly. This week, get up 15 minutes early EVERY day and walk for 15 minutes. Next week make it 25 minutes every day. The week after, only go out 4 days by doing this: walk 5 minutes / jog 1 minute for 20 minutes. The week after (4 days per week from now on) walk 4 min / jog 2 min. Then walk 3 min / jog 3 min. Once you can comfortably jog 5 minutes with a 1 minute walk break, take it up to 25 minutes. Try working up to 40-50 minutes 4 days per week.

ANAEROBIC -
Start doing a push/pull/leg routine on Mon, Wed, and Fri (mon = push, wed = legs, fri = pull) with body weight exercises (i.e. push-ups, chin-ups, situps, one-legged squats, one-legged calf raises, low back extensions). If you have weights, you can add them to this routine with time.

There is no need for you to add more weight lifting days or routines if you are only trying to lose body fat.

FINAL NOTES
==========
If you are serious about this, then you need to stop drivelling and get up earlier to accomplish this! It takes time... You may start to notice a TINY difference after 20+ days of a changing lifestyle. And, your diet and workouts should become solid and healthy within 2 months.

If you follow a slow and steady change to your lifestyle, it will be easier to become accustomed to and you will have a higher chance of success!

The only way for you to take control of your life and create the body you want, is by taking control of your life! Now, stop reading all of the silly posts and go push some sweat out of your fat ass!

Damn bro, that motivated me, and you already know I can keep myself motivated :D

you will have to bite the bullet on some things. consider it cleansing. but when you can be happy with something, go for it! like, if you like soups and it's a healthy soup, enjoy yourself! or, if you like bike riding, make sure you do it. that kind of thing.

the key is to make lifestyle changes, not walk around feelking deprived or hungry.

Remember one more thing. If you start reducing the amount that you eat, your body will rebel at first. It will make you feel extremely hungry in order to get you to eat. This lasts for maybe a week and will subside.

if you want to achieve real results you'll have to make some sacrifices, everyone wants a great body but it takes work and will power. try this site for some ideas in addition to thos mentioned by other posters:

You have a hard road ahead of you.
Accept it, embrace it and take on the challenge.
No excuses, no distractions .... Just you and yourself going all the way.
Don't stop or slow down until you've reached the end.
As you already know, the results will make you happier than ever...and the hard work is worth it just to reach that point, where you can have all the confidence you've ever wanted and feel on top of the world.

Just remember... If you do it, the results will come. :p
You'll gain alot more than a healthy lifestyle and a fit body.

I know I'll probably take a beating for this but ... I did the low carb diet for seven months when I decided to lose weight years ago went from 185 to 150. After I felt slimmer it was easier to walk faster or uphill. I had a ton of motivation because finally something was working and it was easy and the food was good.

Today I can hardly tolerate the taste of meat and eat it rarely and my nutrition has improved, but without lowcarbing I don't think I would have had the motivation to do anything because real dieting (healthy choices, multiple food groups, less intake, etc.) was just too difficult for me at the time.

Good luck Jared. No matter what you choose, choose something and DO IT!
