I am a 35 year old male. I live in Portland, Oregon. I am 6'4" and I weigh 260 lbs. At my heaviest I was 289 lbs. I had high blood pressure and had on overwhelming feeling of lethargy. I quit smoking 4 years ago and changed my diet. I no longer have high blood pressure and have many more happy days. I am still not that active outside of my demanding physical job, but I feel my diet has started to do wonders. I Just wanted feedback to get ideas on how to add or subtract to my current diet to make it stronger. I will soon be starting a exercise program starting with simple walks. My goal for weight is 230 lbs.
First thing in the a.m. I drink 8oz of water with 2oz of organic apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of organic honey. I then make a smoothie consisting of 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt, a handful each of blue berries and black berries, 2 oz wheat grass juice, one medium fully cooked beet, carrot and celery puree, the juice of one orange a banana and a pinch of flax seeds (all organic). I then take two supplements: Omega 3 caps (fish oil) and a Multi vitamin. I then eat 3 eggs, pan fried with extra virgin coconut oil. 2 pieces of "good seed spelt" bread (dry) or sometimes with peanut butter. I finish breakfast with a cup of green, or black tea, honey and lemon.
For Lunch I eat either a low sodium chicken or turkey sandwich with romaine, cilantro, red bell peppers, fresh jallapenos, and yellow mustard or a big salad of spring mix greens and spinach, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes and crumbled goat cheese with lemon. With a couple handfulls of raw unsalted almonds and raisins. I drink either water with lemon or soda water with lime.
I snack on more almonds, bananas, a honey granola bar, or celery and peanut butter.
For dinner I eat baked chicken (skin on cause it's good) grilled salmon steak, or some sort of braised beef dish. On the side, either brown rice with soy sauce, baked potato with Greek yogurt or polenta. Always with green and red, orange or yellow veg steamed. I drink water and 8oz of organic coconut milk. Then enjoy a glass of red wine.
For dessert I will have either half a bar of very dark organic chocolate or a gluten, dairy free orange cake with sliced banana.
I do drink plenty of water and on occasion I will enjoy a brewed coffee with coconut creamer.
Any input is welcome and helpful. Thank you!
