I want to lose 20 lbs by the end of may (i started my diet in beginning of april, by the way) and i don't want to starve myself because i'm afraid to get loose skin. i'm scared to over eat or under eat. this is what my diet is: 5 days a week i diet and two days i don't (i don't exercise and i eat out or something but i don't go crazy on the unhealthy foods, lol) btw, i'm 21 years old; 5'2" and weigh 150 lbs

breakfast - scrambled egg whites (made in half a tablespoon of olive oil), one slice of whole grain bread, two slices of turkey bacon and a glass of orange juice. OR INSTEAD i'll have a cup of special K cereal with one cup skim milk and banana.

walk to school (30-40 minute walk)
exercise at the gym after class for 1 hr 30 min. (approximately 400 calories)
walk home (30-40 minute walk)
lunch - (sometimes i skip this because i'm usually in school :|) but if i do eat lunch, i usually eat a turkey sandwich with just honey roasted turkey breast in whole grain bread. maybe ill have a cup of fruits.

dinner - whole wheat pasta with extra lean turkey meatballs made in half a tablespoon of olive oil, tomato sauce and some Parmesan cheese and mushrooms OR INSTEAD i'll have 1/4 cup whole grain rice with extra lean turkey meatballs (made the same way) with mushrooms and spinach.

walk for 30 minutes after dinner to digest the food (sometimes)

am i eating too little? too much? am i not burning enough calories? i have a big belly bulge too and i want to get rid of it D:. pleasee help!

at the gym, i do cardio only and some weight lifting. but i do like eliptical for 40 minutes and bike thing for 30 minutes and then treadmill for 20 minutes or something like that.
what carbs should i cut down on in dinner? i usually just eat whole wheat pasta with lean turkey meatballs and veggies :| i'm confused.

If you want to lose 20 pounds from now till the end of the month, that won't happen. You would have to starve yourself. If you meant 20 pounds from when you started the diet, that would even be too much, in my opinion.

Your diet seems okay, but I can't really tell from what you posted how much you are eating. If you are losing weight, fine. If not, you are eating too much, cut down your portions. It would be a good idea to track your meals on a free online diet journal like Fitday.com or free software like Cron-o-meter. This will tell you which nutrients you should cut back on or increase.

Pretty much everything Harold said.

20lbs by may is unrealistic. At your weight you should expect a healthy rate of loss to be about 1.5 lbs a week or so. Some weeks may be a bit more, some weeks will be a bit less. If you're really worried about loose skin, dropping 20lbs in a month will pretty much guarantee some sag - if it's even possible, which it isn't w/out starving yourself.

As far as what you're eating, we can't tell from what you posted. The only way to know is to log your food - I would recommend using one of the free online services like or and make sure you log EVERYTHING you eat.

As of right now, looking at your plan, you could be eating anywhere from 1000-4000 calories. Who knows. For example you say you're eating "whole wheat pasta with meatballs". Is that a single serving (i.e. 2 oz) of pasta? Or a bowl full? Are those meatballs totaling a single serving of meat (4 oz) or are you eating a bunch of them? The turkey sandwich - the slices of bread could be anywhere from 50 cals a slice to 180 cals a slice, depending on the brand of bread. The turkey could be anywhere from 40 cals to 300 cals depending on the brand, the method of preparation and how much you put on the sandwich.

You should be aiming for about 1400 - 1500 calories per day w/ about 40% of that coming from complex carbs, 30% from protein, and 30% from healthy fats like olive oil, nuts and seeds, and so forth.

well, i have been doing this diet since april so it would be 10 lbs a month. but i just want to lose like 2 lbs a week. i eat my meals according to the serving size :D but do you think i'm exercising enough? should i be doing something more?
