Plank?

I want to get my abs perfect all the time and i heard plank is really good to keep your stomach from sticking out. Is this true. If so whats the proper way to do it cause when i do it i cant really feel it in my stomach, my arms just get tired. Please help.

cole planks are great for stablizing your core. The right way to do them is to lay prone on a mat, lift up on your elbows (shoulder with apart and under your shoulders) and up on your toes. Use your abs to keep the body straight like a plank of wood. Do them for 2 minutes. You should feel that :D Then rotate to the right so that you rest on your right elbow , feet stacked and don't sag your hips or head, remember straight line. Do the same on your left. I always feel it in my arms but still hold them for as long as you can and try to make it to the 2 min mark on all three. Good luck. Your abs prob won't burn or hurt but you should feel them being very tight. I could be your arms hurt more so you don't notice your abs, try to focus more. You could try hiiting your abs with other ab stuff first and leave your planks to the end. Things like squats also hit the stablity in the core as well, so do pullups etc.. I could go on and on , but then I'd be like the engergizer bunny :D
