mstehle, I never knew about the kettlebell training nor even heard about it, but the wesite was a great resource to know about it and I even mailed Brad Nelson. SO I should get some reply from him soon.

evolution, the website you gave me really helped me in listing out the trainers in MN, Brad is among them too.

Thanx guyz.

xtacy78 - I'm in Minneapolis as well... I've heard alot about the benefits of Kettlebell training recently, and set up a consulation with Brad Nelson for this weekend.

I'm curious, have you done any training with him since posting this thread, and if so, what did you think? He seems like a really nice guy, and I'm looking forward to educating myself about this discipline.

:)

I'm sure you will enjoy the kettlebell training. It's the best thing I've ever done being in the industry for 17 years. Keep us posted.

I just got back from my introductory session, and I'm hooked!

It used muscles I never even knew I had, got my heart-rate up, made me sweat... but I didn't feel exhausted afterwards. In fact, I feel like running...

This is the perfect exercise for me. :D

Glad to hear it

Everyone whom I've introduced to kettlebells has become hooked. Once you get the basics down, it's amazing what you can do with these things. Their is no limit to the creativity, and lots of fun as well. Enjoy your training

mstehle - I can't get over how much fun it was! I was smiling all the way through the exercises, it was ridiculous. ;) I've ordered my own kettlebell, and will be doing a 3 month training session with Brad - I can't wait!
And thanks for the link to your webpage, it is a GREAT resource. :D

Karky - check out the link in mstehle's post, the site will give you all the info you need to know about kettlebells.

I am sorry for getting back late on this, I was away for a while. Well, I dint make it to Brad, instead Iam joining in local YMCA for persoanl training. Brad trains at woodburry and I live in Plymouth, So its way too far for me to make it on my bike.:(

Hope you will enjoy your RKBT. :)

Hey, no problem! I’m glad you found an arrangement that works for you. I’m doing a three-month program with Brad where he gives me a 7-day routine every week, then I check in with him remotely (via email) every weekend to go over how things went. We only meet once a month (so I can make sure my form/posture is correct, learn more advanced exercises, etc.), and that’s not too bad for me – I’m about a 40 minute drive from Woodbury.

mstehle - if you’re doing kettlebell training, is it still necessary to do 30-40 minutes of cardio, about 2-3 times a week? I ADORE doing my kettlebells (I could keep doing set after set, even when I’m exhausted), however, I find myself just dreading the days where I do just cardio… it gets so boring. How much time per day/days a week of kettlebell training would be required to compensate for it?
