Personal Training Certificate

I've been tossing this idea in my head the past few days, but I'm really uneducated about it. I'm studying Astrophysics in college, but was looking to getting a cert for PT, not to get a fulltime job, but maybe a summer job while I'm still in college. How long does it take, and what does it require? I'll have this whole summer to learn every form of exercise known to man so time is not an issue. Are there any tests you must pass, such as a BF% maximum or something?

I'm also planning on getting lifeguard training but that one *seems* to be easier than a PT cert, only because I've been swimming since I was 5. And it'll be in L.A. And I can get hair like David Hasselhoff. And the babes man, the babes!

Do both if possible. I'm a lifeguard, took me like 1.5 years to become one. Soooo much training involved.

Personal training would be better to pick up girls. Imagine telling some smoken hot girl you are training you want to show her some intense excercises in your bed.....WHAT A PICKUP LINE!

Personal Training certificates are way too easy to get. All you have to do is pass a test that any 7th grader couls pass after studying for a weekend. There are some that are harder, though. I put my opinion of the different organizations at the bottom of this page

I hope you only do this if you're serious. Personal Training is not a way to pick up girls. We have way too many of those kind of "trainers" out there who aren't helping the rest of us establish a respectable image for this profession. Train to help people and to make a lot of money doing it. Pick up your girls at the bar or the beach.

Im majoring in Astrophysics right now, going into my junior year next fall. I just don't know what I want to do yet...to me being a Personal Trainer wont be about getting girls, but about helping people with knowledge that I have and want. But I don't think I'll be able to go to another college for this, maybe later in my life.
