People Noticing?

So when did people start noticing your weight loss? 10, 20, 30 lbs?

When did you start noticing without the scale telling you?

It really depends on your frame and how much you already weigh,
If your petite with only an extra 15 pounds, people may notice with five ten pounds gone.
If you are tall, and more severly overweight it may take 25 to 30 pounds, or even more.

I also find that if people see you every day they may not notice as quickly as say for example somebody that has not seen you for awhile. For people that see you everyday the change is gradual,...kinda like you dont realize how much a child has grown until you measure them from six months ago,..but when grandma comes to visit she cant believe the change!!!!!!

I have lost 67 lbs,..and really struggling to find clothes that fit in my closet, even my smaller stuff was making me look like I was wearing clown pants...so I bought some new jeans and wore them this weekend....I got lots of compliments on my weight loss, I think the clothes that finally fit helped show the changes.

I think the next 33 lbs I have to lose will show the most significant change. The first bit of weight took me from fat to less fat,..the last 33 hopefully will take me from fat to normal.

Woo hoo congrats on the new jeans jen.I have lost 11.6 kg and people have really started to notice but I think it’s because of my clothes and how daggie they are now. Loving it.

Wow Jen..that is fantastic.. that is an amazing amt of weight. I have yo yo-d so much I wonder if my body will take me serious this time. I hope to shock it right into taking me seriously! I cant wait until I can say Ive started to drop! Thanks for the inspiration!
:p

I started getting noticed at around the 15 lbs mark... mainly b/c my clothes were alot baggier than before. So, I guess that is a good indication.

As far as noticing on my own and believing the scale? I think that I have on and off days. Some days I still feel really "jiggly" and fat, but others, I can look in the mirror after my shower and really tell. so it goes back and forth.

well i have only lost 40 pounds in about a year's time. i had hoped to have lost more by now, but im in the 140's plateau i guess right now. people that havent seen me in a while have noticed, but not really people i see all the time. i am large framed and always look less than i really am. so i got to lose a LOT more if i wanna squeeze into those size 7's. its funny tho, pregnancy really changes your shape. for instance, at this weight before i had kids i would be probably be wearing a 9/10 right now at 144 pounds. but due to xtra fatness in certain areas im forced to wear a 12! ugh its frustrating. i think another 20 pounds and it will really be noticeable even to those who see me a lot. i spose it would help if i wore something other than sweatpants!

it took me a while to notice any change really , but when my clothes started to feel loose thats when i truly realised just how much weight i have lost. i have lost about 33 pounds to date and people have just only started complimenting me.

I lost weight very fast - maybe a little too fast to be honest - I think that it was around 40 pounds in just over three months. Also, working shift work, a lot of people who know me didn't see me for a while - then almost suddenly - everyone kept looking at me in disbelief - several people at least, have asked me if I am or have been ill. Doesn't sound nice, but I can't help enjoying that one. I did loose some muscle, but I'm working on that one now. When I'm at work, my overalls hang on me.

Earlier this week, I popped into my old regular pub - I don't go there as much now - because of all that calorific beer, but this time I bumped into an old mate who hadn't seen me for a few months - he didn't recognise me at first, he thought that I was a stranger!

People who share the same problem...

I've lost about 56 lbs since January. I'm 5'6" and weighted 236 middle sized frame. If I remember correctly right around the 205~210 mark is when people started to realize. To me it seemed as though people who were also struggling with their weight seemed to notice early on.

I work with all geek men, and quite frankly, i could come to work naked but unless i had a tray of brownies with me - they wouldn't notice anything.

though yesterday, for the first time, someone i've known for a few years said tome - hey chicago must be agreeing with you - you look really good... (ok so chicago gets the credit - not me losing 100+ lbs

one thing for sure, im the most critical person about myself. seemed i was the last person to notice lol.. but now i have pictures to prove to me that at one time i really was overweight

I have lost 30lbs. People started noticing at about 15lbs. Which doesn't make sense from what someone else said.. they said that with a more petite from you will be able to tell with less weigt. I am in no way petite. I want to lose 21lbs more.

Ahahaha sounds familiar - if it wasnt for my bike propped up against my desk (im not leaving a $4000 bike outside!) then they wouldnt have noticed
I think others noticed when id lost about 80lb - probably because i was very big and people dont want to ask just in case :)
Now they keep asking me how im doing it - to the point i had to put up a website just to explain it rather than get stuck in many hour long conversations.

so i'm out to lunch with geek boys today - and as usual i'm the lone female :D the restaurant was crowded -- so one of the boys offered up his knee for me to sit on - youcan't weigh that much he says.. :D Ummm.. :D thanks son, you just made my day.. :D (he's 6'6 and a former marine and pretty solidly built but still :D

Hey! I didn't write the post but if you are saying you are not petit then what she said is accurate. Good job on losing weight
