anyone have any suggestions?

Just from what you wrote here... eating only when you're hungry or eating what you want... not a good idea. Unless you know your body so well that you can tell what/when and how much you need... then I'd be a bit more strict regarding diet.

Now that you're working out and not losing fat... it could be anything. You could be eating too much or not enough. You could be eating the perfect amount and losing fat while gaining muscle (thus keeping your weight the same).

My thoughts are that you should follow a more structured plan if your goal is to lose fat. On the other hand... if you're already fit and in shape and happy with your body... there is some wiggle room to be less strict.

Sorry to be vague in my answer. It's just that it could be a variety of things. Try posting your typical daily menu and workout routine. Post your stats (body fat %, gender, age) and your goals.

im 23% body fat and 26 female 145 ibs i think or there abouts, im not bothered about weight its more about losing inches.
i follow this plan as i dont over eat or feel deprived either, typical day is toast for breakfast, salade with feta cheese for lunch and a small dinner salmon and veg or some pasta, few pieces of fruit or i choc bar.

its not a bad way to curb binge eating and watch portion sizes, but it doesn't come close to being a 'good way' to determine your caloric needs...basically what the other members have already said.

best thing is to track what you eat, use something like to add up the calories for you, and see what you're really eating. YOu can look at the link below to see my fitday journal to get an idea of how it works. fitday online is free.

I don't think you're taking in enough calories each day. This will evenutally backfire on you. I'd use caution... that's all. There are better ways to eat.
