Pasta's Bread's Rice??

The only reason people dont really like eating pasta's, breads, and rice is because of all the carbs right?? What does the carbs do to you that are so bad i have no idea on that? I FREAKIN LOVE RICE and would eat a 100% whole wheat bread turkey sandwich everyday but im afraid it will make me gain weight? and I love spaghetti but the pasta????
 
well carbs are like energy. complex carbs (rice, bread, pasta) are not as bad as simple carbs(sugars). but the only reason carbs are condemed is because if not used they then become fat. so instead of going out and exercising people would rather just cut the carbs they eat. if a minimal amount of carbs are eaten the body will then look for the muscles for energy (also called catabolism = bad, it's the breakdown of muscles for energy), but as long as you have protein in your body you metabolism can't break them down, so in then burns fat for energy..

i tryed to keep in simple as posssibe..
 
If you keep your protein intake high and your carbohydrate intake medium, and excersise regularly, then that is much healthier than any carb-cutting diet.
 
like mentioned, you have good carbs and bad carbs. the bad stuff will be full of sugar, refined and stripped of its nutrients. the good carbs will have a good amount of fiber and a higher protein count.

personally when i'm training for size my carb intake is b/w 300-400 a day. when i'm trying to lose bodyfat which i will start next saturday, i gradually lower my carb intake over many weeks till i'm around 150-200.

dont think the low carb folks would let me in their clubhouse though :p
