Pain on the inside of left kneecap.

I was taking out the garbage this winter, and slipped and fell on a rocky surface. I am now dealing with a pain that comes and goes, it does not prevent me from walking, and it has been approx. 2 months since injury. It seems to be a weakness when the knee is bent a certain way. The pain comes and goes and can be a sharp pain, or dull weakness on my left knee.

I am not a permanent resident of Canada yet and do not have health care. I have previously played basketball, and did a lot of cardio on treadmills to get in shape. I am wondering if anyone has an educated guess at what my injury is, and the extent of it? I would like to start a fitness routine again but I am hesitant to cause further injury.

Don't know if you are still looking for the answer to this question, how is your knee?

How did you fall? Did you hyperextend you knee at all, twist one way or the other? Did you fall backwards or forwards? It hurts when it is bent HOW? Where in your knee do you feel the pain (back, kneecap, inside, outside?)

I will not be able to diagnose anything, but maybe can help you figure out what happened inside. When does your health insurance kick in?
