P90X supplements and Nutrition.

Hey everyone, I'm about as green as you can be to this site. I have read a few of the stickys but I still have questions. I'm going to give as much detail as I can to get the best replies for me.
I am a 38 year old male that up until a month ago never did anything positive for my body since High School. I quit smoking and started P90x. Been steady for going on 4 weeks. Been very strict on nutrition and supplements. I am 5'9 1/2" and weighed 232# when I started. So I'm fat. I'm trying to lose weight and build muscle at the same time. So far I have lost 13 pounds and I can definitely see more muscle tone than when I started. I would like any input on the supplements I'm taking and if I should be taking something else to replace something or add to. All I know is what the guy at GNC recommended and let's be honest, they are trying to make money too. I am here seeking un-biased input from people with more knowledge than I about these type of things. I am going to copy/paste my supplement/eating schedule. I follow this to the letter and do not cheat.
For any questions on anything or any details, I will reply as quick as I possibly can. Thanks for any help.

Over 130 views and no replies, come on you guys I know there are people looking at this that can give me some advice.

My Pre-workout Platinum Pump Fuel...Is this stuff any good with Kre-Alkalyn creatine? Is it providing enough creatine for my body to gain from it? Would I be better off with another pre workout supplement and a separate creatine. I was thinking about switching to the iSatori Morph MegaDrive but I wasn't sure if this contained any creatine or not, or if it was even needed for it. I can't post a link to the product because I'm still a newb.
Come on and give me some input on anything I can change or improve on, I need to at least know if I am on the right track. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Congrats on completing 4 weeks of P90X! I just finished my first round a few weeks ago.

I can't add all that much input on the particular supplements you're taking. I take protein, I take a daily multivitamin (from Target), and I drink the P90X Recovery drink. Those supplements have worked well for me.

Looks like you're right on the money with the carb protein mix. It definitely seems like you're on the right track!

Thanks for your input. They lay the programs out so any idiot can do it right, even the nutrition. But, they don't go a lot into supplements so I felt kind of lost. I know the supplements aren't needed to get fit but I think that anything that helps give results and makes you feel better is a great tool. Results are the greatest motivation I can think of.

kre-alkalyn is a ripoff. NO studies have shown that 'buffered' creatine works, or that it works 'better' than creatine monohydrate.

so, get yourself some plain 100% pure micronized Creatine Monohydrate, preferably one with a CreaPure processing stamp on the label. Should be $15 or so for 500g...about 100 days supply.

take it once a day, 4-5g, every day. training day or not. timing doesn't matter, but post workout in a shake is a convenient method for many. Consistency is what makes it 'work' though.

You don't need that much protein. Highly trained athletes need .77g/lb. of bodyweight, guys who work out 5 days / week need .55g/# of bodyweight.

Hey, I'm on the last day of my third week on P90X, let me tell you it awesome. But you already know that don't you... And yeah your diet looks pretty good. I see you do the cheerios to. Me and my friend James both do p90x together and he dose cheerios as a carb source. I chose Kashi GoLean cereal.

Oh and as far as creatine gos Ive done a lot of research on it. If you decide to get creatine monohydrate shoot for the micronized kind. The particles are up to 20 times smaller that regular creatine monohydrate. And when you mix it, use a warm liquid. And here is why, apparently creatine disolves best in warm water as opposed to cold water. This allows it to effectively absorb into your muscles at a higher rate. Less will be expelled as waste(through urination) this also puts less strain on your kidneys and prevents stomach cramps and gas, when taking higher doses.

Try this experiment, you'll need creatine monohydrate(miconized) and two clear glasses. 1 filled with warm water, and the other filled with cold. About 1-2 ounces for each should be good. Put about 1/4 teaspoon creatine in each and stir. Watch the rate at witch they dissolve. My results were astonishing! after about 10 seconds the warm one was completely dissolved and looked like regular old tap water again. The cold one was still slightly cloudy and you could still see creatine granules.

Hope this helps.creatine also absorbs best after a high carb, high protein meal. This has to do with blood insulin levels being raised in your blood stream. Research it a little more to understand WHY. I found this info very valuable and has improved my endurance and overall pump wile working out.

hope this helps...
