p90x questions?

for chest and back they use pull up things.. and I don't have them.. is it okay to skip that section all together?
and is it fine if I do each section my own way? or does it have to be exactly according to their schedule/plan they set up?

my number one priority is my midsection/stomach section
can I jump right to the section that focuses on that? or follow the workout plan?

It all depends on you. P90x is planned out to get you in the best shape of your life in 90 days by following what they do, so if you are doing variations and missing certain workouts then your results will vary depending on how much effort you put into it.

You can use resistance bands instead of the pull up bars if you have any?

If your priority is your midsection then I don't see any problem using Ab-Ripper, Core Syn, and the other workouts that focus on that area.

Was your idea to just mix the workouts up a bit?

P90X is a great program and you really need to do it as prescribed. First, it works, why mess with something that works? Also, it is set up to work differnet muscles and do different routines on alternating days. This gives your body parts the proper amount of rest they need. As for just focusing on the midsection, it can't be done. Ask anybody who is serious about training. You just cannot spot reduce. If you are wanting to burn fat around the waist, the best way to do it is build muscle. that requires working the rest of the body with resistance. I'm not talking about big manly muscles by the way. just nice, firm, tone, shapely muscles.
Now, as for the pull up thingy:) you can buy one at walmart for under $40. If that is too much, do you have resistance bands? If so, just hook them over something high. An armouir (sp?) or hook them over a door. That can be tricky though be careful. If you open the door and face the edge of it, hook the band all the way over the hinge side. Anyway, I'm sure you will figure it out.
And listen, I am a Beachbody coach. When you bought your DVDs they should have assigned you a coach. Unless you got a bootleg or used set. either way, I would love to help if you need. Just look me up on FB (Fletcher Smith). Good luck and let me know if you need any other help.
