What a big surprise I'm frustrated about losing weight wow what a shocker. Okay well i have a great gym membership and use it maybe once every 2 weeks YEAH sound familar. But i've worked out once this week and because i read some of these newbie forums it encouraged me to 1.join and 2. work out afte Grey's Anatomy is over side note love that show !! :) ANYWHOO I was reading some elses' thread that said she was 22 and gained 80 pds during a pregancy. That really made me feel not alone. OK OK about me huh... well I've been married for only 6 months and and but i have been with my husband for 5 yrs and couldn't ask for a better husband he loves me no matter what and supports me yess. He just wants me to be healty. I also am a Supervisor at a Hotel and the job has either an early shift in which i work mostly and i feel so tired aftewards i just want to nap when i get home and not move. Oh ya did i mention i have Achilles Tendonitits which makes me HEELS hurt like HELLLLLL after standing on them for 30 minutes or more ya HURTS REALLY BAD. So i'm having trouble staying encouraged to just go to the gym and just maybe WALK hmm. ya i think thats what i'll do just walk thats a good start right. ?? well please respond and i will respond to yours i want to start this TODAY :)

hi there,
wow bummer on the tendonitis, that must really be painful!
In that case I would conider a good regiment of swimming, Its a great workout for the entire body, plus very low impact:jump:

It's OKAY girl!!

You are never alone, and I am so glad you joined because everyone on here is so supportive! We will be here for you! I'm new too, but this forum is so inspiring!

There are tips and even really good conversations! Ya know what, does your gym have yoga or pilates classes? It really keeps you off your feet, and it's low impact. BUT when you feel the stretch you'll know how good it really is, plus it makes you limber *wink*

Working out doesn't always have to be high energy and killer, it's supposed to be fun!

Once I embraced that im changing my lifestyle it really made going to the gym a LOT easier. You just gotta find your nitch and this forum will do a great job to help!

Congrats on your new beginning!

Hi!
I'm relatively new too but I feel like I've been here for a while...I just can't seem to get off this forum! Anywho, welcome! And yes, we all have been there. I also have pain issues -> knees and ankles sometimes. Yep, pilates has worked wonderfully for me in the past and it just made me feel great. And yep, swimming I've heard is awesome as well which I may in fact try out one of these days...Also biking maybe less painful on your heels? Maybe? Or any balance ball exercises, I love those. ...I'm rambling...

I recommend starting a diary/food journal/or something of the sort and fitday.com and/or thedailyplate.com which both help count calories (if that's how you're going about it). See ya' around, and good luck!

Hello and Welcome to the boards...
Start a diary and people are sure to visit and lend much needed support and encouraging words

I do have a physical problem as well .. I have arthritis and am usually in pain when walking ..but I push myself, because its what I need to do to live a healthy life...

I weigh around 292 ..
so don't feel alone! :) We all have some chub or a lot of chub we so desperately want to lose ..so join in and start a diary

and walking is a great way to start ..just push through the pain of the first few times and than you will find it easy and try different roads ...Walking can be beautiful this time of year too ..with the mixture of sun and colorful leaves
so enjoy
always

Thanks for the adivice i do actually rid the eliptical bike at my gym to start out first thing. Really to just get my adrenaline going to not want to stop and low impact. I have done pilates before at my college and loved it. Maybe I'll start a journal once i figure this site out.:)

HI! Just wanted to say hello to you and to welcome you here! I'm new at this too, so don't feel alone at all. I weigh 148 and i'm trying to loose 15 lbs, but ya know I don't think it really matters what you weigh or how much you are trying to loose, IT IS ALWAYS REALLY HARD TO LOOSE WEIGHT. But, with the right tools and encouragement and good attitude you can do whatever you want. So, more power to you for walking through the pain. But on a side note, may want to check with a physical therapist or dr. about the foot pain-you don't want to make it worse so that you cant walk on it at all. Or take an NSAID like ibuprofen that may help the pain and ice it afterwards. I'm in nursing school so i know a little bit, but not enough obviously!Try to have fun!
