Overeating and fitness

Hello Everyone,

I ate at least three days worth of calories in three sittings today and this is not counting my main meals! It was embarassing and mindless, I had no reason to eat like that!

If I did not know any better I would think this overeating and fitness pattern is a subconcious way to sabotage my efforts!

I am also disgusted and disappointed as I have been exercising and really should be at my ideal weight by now!

Well, hopefully confessing my gluttony would help me excercise self control for myself and my children in the future.

Hiya,

You've touched on a key point there - accountability. One of the best ways of keeping yourself in check is to have accountability - whether that's to a partner, your family, a fitness buddy, or the members of this forum - whoever! If you have a food blow-out, and know you're going to have to front up with it to others, it'll help get you back on track.

Don't be too disappointed for long - use your annoyance at the over eating to come back stronger, and make sure you let everyone know if it happens again - might help you to say no to the over-eating :)

Good luck!

heya,
don't beat yourself up about it. if you have a fall, wake up dust yourself off and try again and again untill you succeed. no one's perfect and we all have those moments and that's why we're all here to better ourselves and our bodies. wishing you all the best in your journey xoxo:seeya:

o_O; I had a 1600+ dinner yesterday..(am 5"2', f, 51 kg so 1600 kcal is nearing my daily calories at maintenance!) ..

CRAP.

Ok, now it's done and there's nothing much I can do about it. No guilt, I really enjoyed the damn meal. and back to the gym! :p

See you're not alone! You just need to stop feel guilty and realise what's done is done. Now what can you do? Keep yourself accountably, find new tricks so it won't happen again.

Good luck! :) feel free to tell us what you're currently doing so we might help better!

The others have given you great advice so all I can really do is cosign.

One thing I've learned is that you can't change the past. The only thing you can do at this point is to pick yourself up and move forward stronger!

You can do this, you can beat this as you already have. Now that you've made yourself accountable you can use that to fuel your weight-loss efforts.

Good Luck!

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for your kind words of support they made me smile.

I was furious with myself for not exercising self-control, but I'm better now. Yes, I intend to be accountable and tell you if I slip up, when I’ve done well and if I’ve found something that works.

Well, in spite of my slip up, I have lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks, not bad!

Oh, happy belated mother’s day to those of you in the States!

Take care.

congratulations on the weightloss so far! your off to a great start...have you started a forum diary yet? because that way you can log your daily nutrition/exercise and get encouragement from others too. all the best

Hello Everyone,
Almost there and it's a great feeling not to be battling weight and free of addiction to food. I still love my snacks, but now I tell myself no a lot more and exercise is a huge must, because of the health benefits and I love it!

As you may have noticed the diary thing isn't working for me, but I daily make a mental note of what needs to be done in relation to the above and I just get on with it.

Glad to see your still pushing on! I quite like your signature "do all things in moderation"...it's something i really need to do particularly with my food intake. I've been doing pretty badly but now trying to get back to healthy eating and hoping the exercise will soon follow. all the best xoxo

Thanks Cherry,
Sometimes I'm reminded to take my own advise and find if I stop myself from taking the first bite of whatever snack I fancy I avoid the downward spiral.

You must get exercise in though, have you tried the it's quick and effective and can be done in front of the telly great for toning!
