Hey everyone! I could have sworn I started a journal yesterday, but it appears it got lost in outter space. So I am starting one today! I joined this forum back in 2008 as a way to gain added support and motivation along my journey, and it really helped me to be successful. Let me share a little bit about myself.
My name is Amanda, I started working out at the age of 18. I am 5’5 and was about 150 lbs to start. Doing Billy Blanks workouts at home with those cool little resistance bands, counting calories to about 1400/day, and posting daily in the forum, I managed to get down to 133. I was HAPPY!
In July of that year, my boyfriend broke up with me. It led to a rapid slide down a deep slope. I stopped working out, stopped caring, and just did my thing; partied and lived life.
In March of 2010 I went on a little trip to Cuba, and met a boy. We dated for 1.5 years and I would go out there to stay with him for months at a time. They lived a very nonchalant lifestyle where they ate what they could regardless of nutritional components, and didn’t have scales to measure if they were gaining or losing. After staying there for 3 months in 2011, I decided enough was enough and I needed to get back into shape. I jumped on the scale after coming back from my trip and had found that I was 179.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My good friend Alta got me into Beachbody and I started out with Chalean Extreme. I lost 17 lbs from July to December, but fell off the wagon due to the holidays. I spent all of 2012 starting and stopping and starting and stopping. My love was food and I couldn’t get out of the addiction of the greasy savoury goodness.
In October 2012, I became a Beachbody Coach and decided that this was the ONLY way that I would be held accountable. I started Rev Abs in October but, once again, the holidays got the best of me…
So Jan 1[SUP]st[/SUP] 2013, the year it is all going to change. I started Turbo Fire and devoted my time to running clean eating challenges each month and having a bunch of people do them with me. By being the leader, I am forced to lead by example since all eyes are on me. So far, I am down 22 lbs!!
I decided to come back to where it all started and document my journey. I hope to make some good friends along the way, and hopefully inspire a few people to stick with it!
So welcome to my diary everyone!
