Open letter to Grunting-Yelling Guy

We all appreciate that you are working out very hard. Deeeeeefinately much harder than the rest of us wandering around the gym.

However, it is distracting when after each lift you grunt (uHHHHHHHH!), yell (AHH!) or screeam (YEAH!), especially when I can hear you over my headphones.

We can all appreciate a grunt or two as you squeeze out the last few lifts, we've all done it, albeit at decibels much lower than you, but if you have to 'uHHHHHH!' after your first lift, I fear you are lifting too much weight and may actually hurt yourself.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this concern.

Sincerely,

All the little gym squirrels, not nearly as strong as you.

Aww come on Red, thats just a tactic they use to get the good looking women like yourself to look over at em and be impressed by their big muscles and attempts to lift superhuman weight.

Doesn't work though does it ;)

lol
i hear ya.

Theres this one guy at my gym who was dumbell pressing 190 in each hand, and he let out the most furocious screams. It was like somebody was severely torturing him... echo'd throughout ..the whole city.

I dont mind if it happens once and awhile.. as it is funny/entertaining to watch. But if its constant then it gets annoying and distracting.

That's why the gyms for men and the girls have "curves for women". Just kidding. But you have to realize that a gym full of men has astronomical levels of testosterone and may create an environment not agreeable to most women. I gotta say, if you don't like it... tough. Use a discman or something.

Grunting, screaming, calling dinosaurs - that's got nothing compared to the guy at my gym. He lifts deliberately and slowly while moaning in a deep voice like he's getting laid.

I'm serious when I say this: If you have your back to him, you'd thing he was giving someone a ride on his bone coaster in the middle of the gym floor.

actually when the doctor was popping my wrist back in place, I used these same LOUDDDDDDD grunts if you will. If I didnt, it woulda hurt 5x worse and I woulda passed out :D

actually yelling helps me push it further. though i wouldnt do it in a gym. i do it at home when no ones around and it really helps push it
