Online Personal Training

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about hiring a personal trainer and she suggested online personal training. She has lost 20 lbs. in the last 6 weeks and said she never felt better. She's on a 3x a week program and her diet is mainly structured around portion control. I looked on his website and the prices are reasonable and would save me a lot of money than if I were to hire a private trainer. Could I expect to see similar results? The trainer's site is:

myhitechtrainer.com/physicalresults/

Has anyone else here had any experience training with a trainer online?

I used to train online. I will in the future too. There are some trainers on this forum who do it via the web currently.

It is just like "in-person" training. Any trainer who knows his/her stuff can help you. It doesn't matter if it is face-to-face or over the web. And just like there can be bad trainers in the gym, there can be bad trainers on the web.

ETA: His price seems kind of low, but that doen't always mean something negative. I would be curious to know what all you get for that money.

a lot of it will also depend on how motivated you are... when you don't go face to face with a trainer it's easy to let yourself slack off....

Right, if you feel like you will need someone to answer to, online training probably isn't the best bet. Although, this isn't always true. I had circumstances where I would call my clients to check in on a weekly basis, sometimes even more.

And I might add, it seems like this particular trainer holds training in higher regards than nutrition. I suspect this based on his price tier. 75 bucks per month for training advice. At 10 bucks if you want to include nutrition.

Maybe I will sign up.
