34 yr old mother of two, have finally come to the realization that I have to do something. I went to Taco Bell and found the table flush against my stomach!!! I've been so busy with family, school, work... I haven't taken the time to notice that things have gotten out of control. I weighed in at 240, and I am in complete shock. 240.... I don't know where to start. Just looking for like-minded individuals who can relate. Also, how does one get involved with a challenge, very competitive person here!!

I think everyone here is like minded, so you're in good company :)

The place to start is at the beginning, with the realisation that this is going to take some time to achieve. Don't get discouraged when the weight doesn't melt off as fast as you want it to, just keep chipping away at it and one day you'll discover that your clothes are getting all baggy.

My first major step in really losing weight was cutting out sugar from my diet. Easier said than done, but once I managed to go a couple of weeks without it, I no longer wanted it with the intensity I had before. I still like sweet things (who doesn't?) but I pretty much never eat them. Doing this cut out hundreds of calories a day from my diet!

Anyway, welcome to the forums! I look forward to reading more on your progress!

A challenge is, becoming aware of where your at ,and desiring to change which is why your here. When you are on a challenge your mind is focussed on your goals, you have a support network around you that will help and encourage you. A challenge gets you moving in the right direction setting healthy eating habits and ,excersise habits, little by little, cause none of us can do it all at once. I been trying to succeed at weight loss and maintenance for years and still struggle. But I thank God that I am not where I used to be. And that is because I set myself challenges that changed my life, and I'm still setting them. Setting a challenge for yourself and conquering it, is the most rewarding thing you can do for yourself. If you are a bit daunted by it all start small like I did ,I just concentrated on establishing a bunch of healthfull breakfasts, when I had occomplished that then, I worked on lunches it takes of lot of time and planning but if you don't quit you win that's what I say. I am trying to set myself excersise challenges [just to do it regularly] because I always slack off and am not consistent, but my challenge is to be consistent and lose weight through excersise and tone up.Weightloss and being healthy doesn't happen overnight but it does happen, as you challenge yourself, and make the changes lifelong and not just something your going to do for a while. It doesn't work like that unfortunately. But hey you can do and so can I and so can all who are read these posts. We are all at different levels but have lot's of wisdom and encouragement for one another. Share your challege and we'll try to help you if we can ,and surely encourage you. God bless from Sue brisbane Australia
