Off day

Hey guys!

Somebody told me I should have a day off once a week when I can eat like 2000 kcal. Otherwise I eat 1500-1600 kcal a day in 6 - 7 smaller meals and go to the gym 6 times a week. He didn't really explain why or if it's going to affect my weight loss so if someone has any comments on this I would be very greatful!

read around the forum...

smaller meals really makes no differnce.. it's total calories during the day that factor in.

I'm sorry I didn't see that thread..

Yeah I know it makes no difference, but it just works for me.. I can control my hunger and therefor my cravings, I eat healthy and within my calories. So I don't see a reason to start eating 3 huge meals of 500 kcal, because I want to eat healthy and unprocessed foods, and there is just no way I can stuff enough veggies and lean meat into my stomach to get 500 kcal. But thats just me..

Too much structure and rigidity leads to a lack of consistency/adherence for some. Taking breaks is good psychologically speaking. Physiologically speaking can be argued too..... but it's primarily a mind thing.

Exactly...

most people say things like "my body knows when..." or "my body gives up...", which is convenient but ultimately untrue. It's most willpower that effects our schedules and adherence to our plans. For most people a break day helps them strive for keeping to a solid plan. YMMV.

I wish I did sometimes. :)

Truth is, there are so many things happening on a microlevel, it would be almost insane to base emotional decisions (like eating can be) on what you think your body needs or wants.
