Odd work schedule and working out

I'm trying to figure out a way to balance my work schedule with my work out schedule.
I work from 10 pm - 4 am Tuesday-Sunday, Monday being my only night off.
I've been lifting weights since I was in junior high (I'll be 21 in November), so I'm experienced there, but I've never really focused on losing weight. My goal now however is to lose about 30 lbs.
I'm 6'0", 225 lbs, with some muscle, certainly not all fat.

My old gym membership just expired and I want to join a new one, this gym opens at 5:30 am. I usually go to subway after work for some food and this gym is literally next door. So I was thinking I usually get out of work around 4:30 am, once I'm done eating I can get to the gym by the time it opens.

So I was thinking about doing cardio at 5:30 in the morning, then coming home and going to bed. Then waking up, going to the gym around 8 pm and lifting weights then going to work for 10 pm. Doing this 5 times a week.

My goal is to lose fat, but keep the muscle I have. I know it's pretty unrealistic to gain mass and lose fat at the same time, but it's definitely possible to maintain muscle while losing fat. But does this routine seem too much? Does doing cardio then going to bed have any negative effects?

Thanks for any help.

It might be too much to do weights before work and cardio after...it really depends on the individual, and the intensity of the exercise. You may have to ramp up to it.

don't bank on adding much muscle while cutting. a diet to lose fat doesn't promote muscle gain very well (and vice versa). but you can make newbie gains for a month, and you can definitely keep muscle while cutting the fat off. lifting heavy, lower reps helps keep strength and mass while in a calorie deficit.
