Im doing some research on obese people & starvation mode, for a project that i am working on.

Im trying to find out as much information possible about when a person who is obese starts starving themself to lose weight. For my project my case study is as follows:

Research and find as much information in relation to a 145kg woman who uses starvation as the main diet. You will need to debate your results against another members research of the effects that starvation has on obese people to the effects it has on a normal person who is at there required weight. You will also need to provide evidence of the health factors that are involved, the amount of weight an obese person can lose and weather the obese person loses more or less weight than the person who is at normal weight.

So i was wondering if anyone has any information in relation to an obese person starving them self to lose weight the effects involved in starvation, the amount of weight they can lose within a 8 week continuince of starving and weather a normal person who is not over weight would lose more weight than a obese person.

I hope that made sense and hope to find some help ful advice. I am looking for as much advice possible thanks.

Well, ive been looking around on other sites about differences & amount of weight loss in people who are heavier.

Ive also been reading thru the minisota study done i think thats what it was called.

How about giving a little more info on the project you're doing? for what purpose?

A person who weighs close to 300lbs will lose weight at a faster rate than a person who weighs half that size... but the downside to starvation type diets (or very low calorie diets) it doesn't teach new habits... a person got to be that size because, most likely, of bad eating habits... unless that changes - they will gain the weight back after they are done 'dieting'

The Minnesota Starvation Experiment is what you're thinking...
