Numbness/Tingling Hands and Arms While Asleep

After taking much of the summer off, I have returned to the gym. I have been working out my biceps and triceps primarily. Since doing so, I have found that I am waking up in the middle of the night with numbness, tingling, and needling feelings in my hands and arms. One some occasions, my arms are so numb that I have to use one arm to grab the other one to move. I thought I may be sleeping on my arms, but I've noticed that even the arm I am not sleeping on gets numb. This has happened to me several times in the past when I've gotten back into lifting weights after a layoff. I have been working out pretty regularly for over 10 years, so I know when I am "overdoing it" in the gym. Now that I am in my mid-30s, this numbness and tingling has been lasting much longer than in the past.

Anyone else ever experience this?
Anyone know what causes this?
Anyone know how to cure this?

I used to have that same problem two years ago when I was doing in grad school. I was very out of shape and fat, about 30% or close. It happened when I started working out too. One of the trainers told me I was just dehydrated and deconditioned and after a week it stopped. I was also training very intense.

Make sure you are getting enough nutrients (fruits, veggies or a multivitamin) lots of water and rest.

or maybe you need a bigger bed.

Hope this helps

so we got numbness only when you workout, only during sleep. few things to try, A: if you sleep on your back, flip around and do a full night on your belly. B: as he said drink about 4 cups of water just before sleep. C: a massage on the effected area's by yourself a spous or a professional, prior to sleep is best but anytime that day is ok. D: a small suppliment test take some L-arginine before bed (this will prevent a good nights rest) and you may want to dose middle of the night as well. < if this helps do not continue to take this for prolonged period, it's for testing only!

what were trying to find out is if this numbness is caused by blood flow or nerves, the following is a good for bloodflow, if that dosn't work could be nerves being the issue.
