Numbers..

I'm just curious as to what other women are lifting or can lift... squat, bench, deadlift, anything...

Since none of my friends lift and all of the women in my gym that lift only grab the 3 and 5lb dumbells.. i figured i'd ask here.. if anyone is willing to share.

You just had to make me feel about myself didn't you? :p

You know I don't go there LOL. You could probably lift ME for your tricep work out:yelrotflmao:

Nae= strong woman!

lol MB. I was in no way picking on you lol promise!

I didnt figure i'd get much of a response here, but I'm just curious

I've been out of the weight routine on a consistant basis for some time now but when I do find myself in the weight room I do these amongst other things:

bench: 65
seated row: 90
SLDL:90
bi curls 15DB
shoulder press (military press) 20 DB
flyes 25DB
Squat: 120
..I dunno, those are some, they aren't my max, I've never tried for my max and I don't know whats "normal" or "good" so these might be wimpy, I'm not sure! I do 2-3 sets of 12 on everything, just depending on the day and what other cardio I'm doing. But like I said, I do this like once a week cause I never have time to fit it in lately.

Thanks Sparrow.. those numbers are just about right in line with mine and i lift very often lol. I've never tried for my max either.

last Fall I was really really into lifting and got those numbers where they are. Maybe the only reason they stay is that I still maintain a lot of anaerobic training and my diet is really protein heavy. not sure. I do know when I lift its certainly not as EASY to do those numbers and I've no doubt you could kick my butt!

I wish more girls would post what they could do. Most numbers I see are from guys.

Whats SLDL?

Both Nae and Sparrow: How many pushups can you do in a row?

Well I just did it to find out. But I had an adventure race this morning so I doubt this is very accurate. I did 29

i can't do any push ups due to a bad wrist :(
I can do a few holding DBs or using push up bars, but I've never just done them to see how many I could do.

Doesn't have to be a set number - could be improvement as a percentage of what you had done, and what you can do after say, a month of training.

Okay so my numbers are nothing spectacular, but here they are:

I use free weights at home, everything is dumbell weights.

Bench: Max is 60lbs (30 each hand)
Sqats: Max is 70lbs (35 each hand)
Lunges Max is 70lbs (35 eadch hand)
Deadlifts: Max is 40lbs (20 each hand) Little worried about injury here, I stick to a weight I can be sure form is 100%, could go higher on the weight)(
Biceb Curl: Max 20lbs each arm (pushing it)
Tricep: Max is one 35 lb dumbell overhead (not sure what to call it)
Push-ups(on toes): I can do 20 if I start cold, otherwise maybe15-16), I have been working on improving here.

My biggest weakness with lower body is that I have trouble holding the weights. I am thinking on a machine my weights would be much higher with legs as they are definately stronger than my upper body. To be honest I have never worried about the weight as long as I get a good workout.

Do you mean holding on to the weights Missy? If so, you can do grip exercises (and get new toys to help you do it).
