a little over a year ago (11/2006) I had breast reduction surgery and for the first time in my life I can exercise without breast pain...I fully intended for 2007 to be "my year" to finally get some weight off and commit myself to being less of a couch potato.
Well 2006 brought me 2 broken ribs, pneumonia and a broken ankle...so that kind of killed activity levels. I borrowed my mother in laws treadmill and had to give it back because it seemed as soon as I got over one thing the next thing hit and then I had to give it back to her.
Well at christmas she gave it back to me for good so I decided then...ok 2007 was crap....lets see what 2008 can do.
Went on a new years trip to Savannah and walked and walked and was dead sore and tired but I decided the soreness should NOT got to waste and I would do the treadmill every day if it killed me. So since Jan 1st I have not missed one day on it and have worked up to 11 minutes as 2.5 mph (its a start!!)
Last nite I went to the gym I have had a membership at for 7 years but never used and met with a trainer to plan a workout for me and will do my best to stick to that as well.
Im not worrying about dieting right now....I prob need to work a little on portion control but even though I cannot ingest diet things (artificial sweetner is a migraine trigger for me) I do ok with eating...love veggies, most always eat my meat grilled...my major weakness was sweet tea and soda, and I have cut both of those completely out, with the exception of my morning coffee Im drinking nothing but water (about 110 oz a day)
Since Jan 1st I have managed to lose 3 pounds and I hope to keep going!!!
Cant wait to look around the forum and see what I can find....nice to "meet" y'all
