Now or Never

OK where do I start, posting my life is a little daunting but here goes.....

I'm 26yo 6'1 and currently I'm 201.5 kg or 444.2 lbs, from New Zealand and obviously I'm looking to lose weight

Heres a little back story on me I'll try to keep it brief.

I've always been big, I first hit 100 kgs when i was 10, at 15 i was 148kg but highly athletic with a promising rugby future

When I was 16 I was selected for a National U21 Rugby development squad
but it all went pear shaped when I suffered a Back injury that had me bed ridden on occasions if I did something to aggravate it, which on one occasion was merely crossing the street!
I still have problems but not as severe (losing weight should help it even more)

Being less mobile I gained weight like crazy went up to 175kg around 17-18yo
at 18/19 my back had settled enough for me to play rugby again albeit not to higher competition levels relying on painkillers and anti-inflammatories
to get me through because I loved playing so badly.

Skip to 2005 the rugby season starts and at preseason training weighing in at 176kgs my achilles tendon snaps on me.

after initially being depressed about maybe not playing rugby again I decide to shed some weight so when I heal from the injury i can play again.

I join weight watchers and after a 5 months, I lose 30kg and things are going good.

I start back at work as my achilles is healed enough, or so I thought, third night back I tear the scar tissue around the achilles.

This has pretty much killed all my motivation and I get really depressed and over the next year i put that 30kg back on and add another 10

around august 2006 i finally get back to work (i was a stevedore/wharfie on log boats) and first night back i was jogging to the toilets and i hyper extend my
knee turns out i fractured my tibia and tore the cartilage

So since then i been weighing around 190 kg
I have tried getting back to losing weight but i havent been able to stick to anything long term

hopefully I can get something out of these forums to lose the weight because after seeing I weighed 200+ I don't think it could hurt

What I took most out of this forum is anyone can do anything they put their mind to. Perseverence and dedication is key. If you have a bad day, shrug it off and keep on treking. That's the key, never give up.

I wish you good health and good luck.

Hey man, fellow kiwi over here. And I too was over 200 kgs. 229 kgs at my heaviest. Just got under the two-hundie about a week ago.

There is heaps of inspiration on this forum, and that's one of the reasons I keep coming back to it. And there seems to be a real nice pool of knowledge here as well.

But yeah man, good luck on your journey, and it's always good to see another kiwi around these parts.

Peace.

You have a long journey ahead of you, but if you keep focused and try your best you'll get there sooner than you think. Good luck man!

thanks a lot guys i have changed my diet in the last week apart from a "few" drinks this past couple of weekends, which im gonna try to give up, damn those tasty beers.
so hopefully when i next weigh in i might have some positive results
