Hey! My name's Allie and I'm a 21-year-old female at around 5'4 and currently 135 lbs.
Growing up and all throughout high school I was a stick. As a senior in high school I barely weighed more than 105.
When I went to college I enrolled in ROTC which has us do extensive physical training a couple hours a week. As a freshman in college I didn't see much weight difference, maybe five pounds fluctuating between 105 and 110. I actually was told to put ON weight in order to be admitted into the program.
I'll admit, I took advantage of the college nightlife, but I never saw any major weight differences and figured that the added calories from drinks were burnt off by all the extra running I suddenly had to do (I never worked out in high school).
Whelp, a year passed and before I knew it I was off to boot camp where I was told to ingest more water than I could stand and began to put on water weight. When I got out of boot camp, I weighed more than when I went in...by a whopping 10-15 pounds. I weighed 125 then. It's been a year since then of good exercising, good nutrition, and healthy sleeping and stress habits, and I now weight 135.
At this point, the weight isn't even the issue anymore. I could care less if I weight 110 or 140. It's just frustrating because it seems like I'm a lot flabbier than I used to be. I can pinch my stomach and it's a whopping 2-3 inches I'm grabbing!
Here's another obstacle: I'll be leaving to backpack through Europe in a week or two. Is there anything I can do while in the states to at least get rid of the flab? Or lessen it? And what should I do while I'm there to keep in shape and stay up on good nutrition and diet?
Thanks, I really appreciate the help.
