Not so healthy food..

Can we post those types of items here also? :D

My mom made me an ice cream cake (yes my mother & for my 27th birthday party)haha, it was so yummy and you guys may want to do something like this for your kids or other party rather than pay the cost to buy an ice cream cake..

If anyone is interested, I'll post. If not, I'll keep it to myself.

The good thing about the recipes are that you can then make them with healthier ingredients. Personally, I don't eat much cake, but I LOVE Ice cream cake.:D

The only part that stinks: Even "low cal" ice cream usually has a lot of sugar and fat in it! Post it, I love having this sort of thing around ;)

Necessary items needed.

Spring form pan (I used 10" which made a large cake)
Oreos or Graham crackers
butter
ice cream/yogurt (2- 1/2 gallon containers softened)
cool whip and topping

crush the whole bag of oreos (this is the only way I have made it) mix in some melted butter just enough to moisten the cookies.
press 1/2 into the bottom of your spring form pan. Dump the entire contents of one container of ice cream onto the top of the oreos, freeze for at least 30 minutes.
Add the remaining oreos and the 2nd pkg of ice cream. and freeze again for at least 30 minutes, but can be longer.

About an hour before serving, top with cool whip (as icing) and then freeze. Add garnishments if desired.

I have attached a link to the cake that I made for the Holiday season.

You are a cruel, cruel person. I am thinking about making that cake the wallpaper for my desktop... *drools*

i don't eat ice cream/frozen yogurt at all anymore...it tastes way too sweet and besides, 100cal/ half cup is ridiculous..i'd rather eat cottage cheese and actually get some protein :)

Photocrazed:

I love that...and I can totally adapt it to make it work for me...the best thing is I actually have a bag of stone ground graham flour sitting in my fridge that I bought on a whim and am always looking for an excuse to use!
