Not seeing results the way I had hoped I would.

I am a little upset that I have not lost a single pound and I have been eatting 1400 calories a day - veggies, proteins, whole grains, fruit and low fat dairy - and I have been exercising every single day for at least 30 minutes - either aerobics or strength training or interval training for 2 1/2 weeks now. I am 53 years old and I am thinking that it is my age that is causing this. I have high cholesterol and am trying to eat low cholesterol foods too. I will keep on trying but I am a little frustrated because I figured I would at least have lost 2 lbs or so......not sure what it is......I have to lose at least 10 lbs.

Stick with your plan. It may just take a little time to start losing.

Oh, and bathroom scales probably aren't accurate enough to show a single pound anyway. Especially when varying hydration levels are taken into account.

Stick with it, you'll get your results.

Thanks - I know this should work as I am journaling what I eat and keeping track of my exercise every day and setting goals. I did not realize that scales are not acurate and may not show the lbs that is something I did not think of.

Well I wouldn't say that they won't show the pounds but they're not accurate enough to show a single pound (or two) with reliability for someone who is around 200.

Plus hydration can make a big differnece too.

Hi Deb, and welcome. Have you calculated your calorie needs based on your stats and exercise? That'd be where I start- it's possible (though I suspect unlikely on 1400 calories a day) that you're eating at your maintenance. Use this website to help you calculate the calories that you need:
