Not new to fitness, need help

Hey! This is my first post...I am looking for some help or at least some confirmation that I might be successful in my weight loss attempt. I still have 40 pounds of baby weight to lose (my baby is 3 1/2 years now...). I am 5'6" and weight 175 pounds. I would like to lose around 40 pounds. I am consuming (and tracking!) 1500 calories per day. Currently, I exercise at least 1 hour 3 times a week and 2 hours 3 times a week with a day off on the remaining day. My workouts include cardio on the elliptical machine, a martial arts type aerobic class and step aerobics plus lifting free weights. I am attempting to drop 2-3 pounds each week at least for the first 6 weeks. I think this should be attainable given my weight now. Any thoughts? Any diet recommendations? I am currently eating 5-300 calorie meals each day and trying to consume 150g protein daily. Thanks!
 
I think it sounds like you're doing OK. The only thing I would question is the amount of cardio you're doing. If I were you I'd cut that in half and do a little more resistance training; like the curcuit training style the link Tony posted suggests. You need a little more muscle if you're going to get your body burning calories faster and keep fat off
