Does any body ever hit a time on their cutting diet where they feel like they just gave in to the hardness. The last 6 weeks i had lost 15 pounds from 177-162 and just recently you know I gave in a little bit. It was my brothers birthday so I had some cake and just 3 days out of the week i ate bad and now way 166. This is killing me and I feel like I totallly screwed up and I'll never be back on track again. Does any1 have any helpful advice or anything to say to help me out. Should I just have a really strong week this week, and than If i can go back down to 164 or 163 I should be good again? I dont know what to think i feel like all that work for the last 6 weeks is just gone now.

Dude, don't fret. Get a piece of paper, right down that your going to get to 160 in the next two weeks. Forget you ever put on that weight. Cut hard for 2 weeks. Lose the weight. Feel happy. Continue. Good luck!

That a classic reason why so many people drop out of a diet among other things.

Put it thi way, would you rather go back to your original shape or worse, or get back down to where you were and keep on improving. Develop some reminders or motivational strategies to keep you going this time such as:

-personal diary
-a buddy to work with
-personal reminders of your goals
-pictures of what you want to attain

^^^^yea thank both of you guys very much. I guess i just have to crack down a little harder espeically this week. I appreciate your comments :D

LOL, 4 pounds? I've literally "gained" 10 pounds in 3 days from eating more than i should. It's nothing man. Just some water weight.

Appearantly my "number" is 4 pounds. If I eat something really good (like fried shrimp at my favorite local seafood place, or the crawfish I'm going to have at our crawfish boil next weekend) - I will gain 4 pounds (of water) overnight.

It sucks, and is very discouraging since I have to work my butt off for every little pound I lose. I have lost 25 and still have 15 to go to get off all the damn baby weight from my two kids to get where I want to be.

When I have the urge to eat something I shouldn't, or more than I should, I just ask myself, "Just how fat do you want to be?" or "Do you want to keep looking like you look?"

I have to "watch it" so to speak or I will gain actual weight, not just water weight. I have to come to terms with the fact that that is just how my body functions. I am prone to gain weight, and will always have to be careful.

I try to spin that into a positive by realizing that when I get back into personal training, it will help me to better understand the struggles of my clients. So, rather than getting upset over temporary setbacks, try to turn them into something positive for yourself and keep going.:)

I also have this problem and I finally got to the point where I just quit weighing myself and now I just go by how my clothes fit. I have a specific pair of jeans that are my "skinny" jeans and that is how i gauge my progress one way or the other. Otherwise it just drove me too crazy and I ended up being worse off overall because I let my negativity take over!

Just relax and remember your diet can be a little flexible, just like life in general! :D

Quit getting on the scale, you're not going to gain weight from one piece of cake, that will go back down. Use the scale once a week and other wise dont worry about it.
