Not feeling the burn

I have recently started a new full body routine, doing 6 excercises per session on various parts of my body.

How ever after I'm finished I don't really feel as though I have worked out.

My routine is:

100% - flat bench press, military press, upright row, barbell squats, preacher curls, side raises (6 reps, 3 sets)

90% - Incline bench press, Horizontal row, standing military press, Dead lift, front shoulder raise, lyind tricep curls (8 reps, 3 sets)

70% - Decline bench press, pull down machine, shoulder press, barbell squats, forward leg curls, hammer curls, (12 reps , 2 sets)

i have a days rest in between each session, with a 30 mins HIIT after each session & a hard cardio hour once a week.

I really feel that i should be feeling that i've worked by the time I've done these excercises, but i'm not. My arms don't feel heavy or anything.

Is this normal?

You are not pushing yourself hard enough. You need to change something (more weight, more sets, shorter rest periods, different exercises, etc.). You should be exhausted after a whole body session.

I fixed how the exercises should be in order.

As far as burning, I don't burn either. It's all about if you're growing or not.

Yeah I don't feel a burn either except for sometimes on the dips, chin ups, and one legged squat. I need to put a little bit more weight on because if I can go more than 15 reps per set, then the weight needs to be increased. I have not really increased muscle that much (only in the chin up and dips I mostly feel a burn, jump rope, and one legged exercises.)

You say you are not "feeling the burn," but I am not certain what you mean.

Do you mean you are not feeling that searing pain you usually feel in your abs after a good ab session?

Or are you not feeling anything.

When you get to the final rep of your set are your muscles shaking? Do you have difficulty completely the last rep - maybe can only get half way there? Do you have to reduce the weight for your final set?

I don't always feel that searing pain, but usually my muscle is shaking and often I will have to reduce the weight or I cannot fully complete my final rep.

What I mean is sometimes after a really heavy session, I walk out the gym, and can feel a slight twitching in the muscles I have worked, and strangley when I get in the shower and wash my hair my arms feel very light when lifting them above my head (or is that just me ??)

Maybe i should try sticking an extra couple of Kg's on each type.

But TBH i don't understand how you can get muscle ache / twitch after only maybe 20 reps per muscle group, i know some excercises combine a couple of muscle groups, but even still.

Also possibly because I train with my lass (Trying to get her some definition and tighten up those buns), I don't feel that if I am struggling with a weight that she can grab my elbows and assist me to the top before taking the weight off me, maybe i should trust her more and get those weights added ?

Yeah, you should feel like you just got raped after a full body workout, you need to push yourself harder. But remember that soreness is not a good indicator of a good workout.

So - what should we feel if the muscle doesn't burn?

He's just telling you why it burns, meaning that you can grow without burning. There are a lot of factors that determine how fast the lactic acid builds, and yes a person can reach failure before burning.
