Okay. :] Well, I guess I should write about me?

I'm nearly 17 years old. When I was a baby, my parents both worked so they hired a baby sitter. She had had 7 children of her own and has been a stay at home mom for a long time, so she used to cook a lot. So she cooked for us and made me eat everything she cooked, so I became really fat really fast. But I was like 4 by this stage... So I didn't understand. So I was just kind of naturally overweight from then on. When I was 12 I went to a dietician. I lost 5kgs and it was going good. The lady I went to was really nice and supportive and she explained things well. But then I had to change dieticians to somewhere closer. I had this old woman and she'd always say how disappointed she was and that I had 'no hope' and that 'there was nothing she could do'. It made me feel really worthless, and when I was 15 I became anorexic. I ate close to nothing for an entire month and I started to pass out. I lost another 11 kgs. After a while I realized that I'd rather be fat and happy with myself than be skinny and still hate myself, so I had to recover. Unfortunately my metabolism was screwed up because of it... So it's been even harder for me to lose weight. So again, after putting the weight back on, I'm not obese anymore, but I'm still overweight. I'm glad that I don't have that much weight to lose, but this time I'm going to do it the healthy and safe way!

So I figured that the reason that I often give up on losing weight is because I lack the motivation. So I joined this forum in hopes that it will inspire me to be the best I can be. :3

Hi!

Do you have an exercise plan?

Exercise is soooo important in repairing a metabolism. When you went through Anorexia you would have lost a lot of muscle, now you have to gain that back! Do you go to a gym? If you do ask one of the trainers about a resistance training work out, working with weights. When you have more muscle your metabolism works faster.

Ah yep I just read your doing weights. They're important, try to aim for 3 times a week.

Good luck!
