Non Scale Victory

Not the usual pant size etc. But maybe something that just made you feel happy that you could tell you were losing....

Mine was going down from size 9 panties to 8

or

When my hands no longer brushed against my legs when I did the tricep push down machine.

or

when I had to get a new workout t shirt because mine was so big it just looked so unflattering.

What's yours?

When I reached the last hole on my belt and it was still too lose.

When I realized I didn't feel the rolls of fat in my upper ab when I sat down.

When my Adam's apple reappeared.

When I fit in my Navy t-shirt my in-laws got for me at Christmas. It is a large (I've been XL for awhile), and was WAY too tight when I tried it on then. Now I fit in it great, I can wear my Navy pride around and not looked like a stuffed sausage in it.

I've had to have my wedding ring re-sized, twice. I had something in a smaller size, sitting in my closet. I was finally at the point where I thought it would fit. I tried it on, and it was too big! Along the same line, I bought a skirt one week and put it on the next week and it had to be returned since it was a little loose. I think the biggest thing is looking at a picture when I was at my largest (115 pounds heavier than I am now)... and seeing the difference.

I experienced another one the other night. I got out of the shower and realized the towel will now wrap around me!!! No huge gaps, YES!

I LOVE non-scale victories, almost more than seeing the numbers go down and down on the scale. A few of mine...:

~I wanted to order a collar/necklace type thing, which required the exact measurement of my neck. When I was online window shopping a half year ago, that was 15.5". When I finally ordered it recently, I measured again, and it was now 14" :)

~I wear knee length boots, that have a series of three straps, and the boots would only tightly fit on the last hole in the straps. Those got loose and they're now comfy three holes in.

~When my normal size of XL t-shirts suddenly seemed to be like tents on me, and then when I got some more shirts where even L was too big. I have a few M shirts now. :D

~When a lovely gold/garnet ring from childhood, that for a loong time only fit on my pinkie finger, slid on my ring finger no problem.

~When I noticed that my facial features were just generally sharper, and that I had cheekbones again..!!!

I love non scale victories:
- when my boots zipper closed without any problems

- when i discovered my collarbone

- when (just yesterday night) the crummy mattress in my bed suddenly hurt and it was because my hipbone is now no longer buried in fat and therefore presses against the springs in the mattress!

- when I buy new clothes and I can now go for M and size 10 (american 8) instead of 12/14 and L

- when my friend said: dude you are gonna disappear if you keep losing weight ;)!!

here are some of mine:

having to take off my wedding rings because they were too loose and finding out that my finger has shrunk 2 1/2 sizes (from a 10 1/2 to an 8)

looking at my forearms and noticing how much thinner they are

noticing my feet shrunk

being able to wear t-shirts that were oh-so-tight on my and finding out that they are night-shirt sized

if I think of anything else, I'll add it...

1 more to add to the list: you get pulled over and the sheriff tells you that you look nothing like your drivers license picture.

LOL.. or their arms are getting bigger. I was terrified I was pregnant a couple months ago, apparently I just needed sleep, so my husband asked the older 2 kids if they wanted a brother or sister. My oldest said, "No, I don't want Mommy to be fat again!" Aww, I'm not fat anymore. :)
