Always time to exercise....
This is easily the most common complaint I hear from the people I know personally trying to lose weight. "No time" I hear it over and over again. Really it simply isnt true in the long run, and when a person (like myself) truly discovers that, they find themselves finding every excuse to exercise as opposed to making excuses not to. The fact you do a 5 mile bike ride daily is a good sign already! Thats more than most people!!! Trust me! Well done!
As for stuff you can do at home with the baby, there are heaps and heaps of great ideas. Jogging on the spot is free and can be done anywhere. Body weight exercises such as squats, different kinds of pushups and tons of other great stregthening exercises such as yoga and pilates are not only a great exercise you can do anywhere, but the internet is absolutely full of free websites offering pictures and instructions on how to keep fit with nothing at all but yourself. When the baby is napping you could definitely be working! If you want a great challenging and very effective workout you could checkout . They have links there to free downloadable 20 minute exercise routines that are fantastic! They incorporate pilates and yoga in 3 different skill levels that I find work awesome! I am still only doing the intermediate level and it is a killer! Takes no room and no bucks, just the patience to download the file and actually do it. Another good workout is simply putting on your favorite tunes, grabbing the little one in your arms and dancing around the livingroom like a madman! The baby wont mind in the slightest and you will burn calories! Just dont drop the baby! I printed off some great yoga routines I now use daily in my office, once again, 100% free and easy.
Butr seriously, do some google searches for free body weight or home based exercises. You will find more than you could imagine and you might be genuinely suprised at what you find. I discovered that I dont need the gym, I dont need a trainer and I definitely dont need fancy and expensive equipment to get in shape. I havent set foot in a gym or stepped on a treadmill in 6 months and I have lost 65 pounds in that time..... I am writing an article as we speak about the general misconception that a person can only get fit with gyms, trainers and fancy tools and equipment. It simply isnt true. Whereas those things are of course very helpful for the avergae joe who needs some guidance and perhaps motivation, a person can easily get in shape and look great just by eating properly and learning some simple home based and body weight based exercises. The true secret is finding what you love doing, and not stopping doing it. For me it was running and yoga. I do them everyday and I am reaching new levels of fitness I never experienced before. No lessons, no gyms, no tools. Just a couple videos, some websites and some studying.
Too much good info out there, my best suggestion is to do some searching and you will definitely find something that suits you!
Good luck with your search!
