I'm working on decreasing my body fat % by gaining muscle while maintaing weight. I work out at home because I can't get to a gym for a lot of reasons, the kids being #1. Here's my question. I work out 3 times a week with weights and resistance, four times a week with cardio. I will do the resistance work out untill my body is shaking, doing reps to failure. But, I'm not getting sore the next day. Not really anyway. A little tender in some places, but not really sore. If I try a new exercise I can feel it pretty good, but the next time I do it, no more soreness. Does this mean I'm not working hard enough, I need to find a creative way to add weight, I need to change up my routine every time I do it (right now I do something different every couple of weeks)? Or is it no big deal and just keep doing what I'm doing? I'm so confused because I always believed the no pain no gain thing.
