Newby looking for Support

:eek: Hello all! I have always been overweight and I have never been happy with my body. Im looking to go from 190 lbs to 150 lbs. Over the years I have tried various diets and gimicks but I could not stick to them. I finally realize that I didn't have the support that I needed, pushing me to obtain my goal. I am hoping that posting and chatting with people on here, will finally be my support that I have needed to lose my weight. Any tips or recipes that you have would be wonderful! :eek: I look forward to hearing from you! :D
 
there's a recipes forum that you can check out - the sister site - fitness.com also has a huge repository of recipes.

Start yourself up a diary - and you'll find yourself lots and lots of support :)

glad youo realize that gimmicks don't work that what does work is healthy eating and exercise...

Thank you! Yes Gimmicks for weight loss have pulled me in over the years, but they really do not work! Thanks for the advice!

I am new too and came here for motivation. I lost 25 pounds in the last year from changing my eating habits and exercising. Now I am exercising more, the results for me are slow but I am losing more inches then I am pounds. I went to and keep track of my dailyl food intake online and WOW, that was an eye opener. I am trying to stay under 1500 calories and day and it really helps when I keep track of it because in the past I thought I was eating right and then come to find out I wasn't and it was deceiving. And lastly, exercise. the more the better. Good luck.

You think the response you got today was something. Just wait until you go to some of the other diary's and how much more support you can get from chatting with others who have had the same temptations as you. The advice you will receive in the next few weeks will be like a dream. I mean, I was overwhelmed at first with how much info there was on this website. It consist of nothing but people who want to maximize their lives. Stay in touch, stay focused and remember that no matter how hard it gets you know the working out and the eating regimen you still have to do it in order to succeed!! Much love:) :)

My boyfriend brought home 12 boxes of girl scout cookies! I am trying to avoid them! Temptation is horrible. I have started a log online for what I eat and I am starting to watch my calorie intake. It just gets so difficult. Where I work, there is always food out, and it usually isn't food thats too good for you. From cookies to chips to danish! Im trying to stay strong!
 
Hello everyone, I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I am trying to lose about 35lbs and get in better shape. I am in the military, so I don't have a lot of time or a steady schedule, I also have zero cooking skills. :p I have been steadily gaining weight because of bad habits and less activity and want to stop it before it gets too bad. I know I can lose the weight but I need some support so I keep at it. I have been grabbing a couple Healthy Choice meals to take to work with me for now. Any suggestions? Thanks!
