Hi guys! : D Just stopping in to say "hello". I am 25 years old and have battled weight issues all my life.
During my last semester of high school my family and I started doing the Atkins diet. It worked, and I lost about 40lbs (in about a years time), however over the last few years I have gained back that much and more. I just never learned how to manage my diet long term.
Now I am starting again. This time with counting calories and hoping to slowly reduce my intake of carbs as well. I am going into my third week, and so far everything has gone really well. I feel better, I'm more energetic, and I lost 6 lbs last week. Yay!
Anyways, I started to initially cut back (not hard and heavy dieting) a couple months ago. At that point I weighed around 320. When I got batteries for my scale (last week) I weighed in at 299. Much better than what I thought I'd be, but still pretty far from my ultimate goal of the 120-130 range.
So overall I'm looking at losing about 170 or 180lbs. : ) I'm sure I can do it! ^___^
Hope to start chatting with everyone soon!
