Hello there. I recognize a few people from other places on the web.
But I randomly found this site and thankfully so. I've been lurking for a bit. I figured I may as well sign up and start posting.
I am 23 and lately have been starting to have a few medical problems due to being overweight - err obese. I just keep telling myself that I'm way too young to already start down the path of medical problems. Way too young. At my heaviest I was a little over 200 lbs. at 5'3". I haven't always been a "big girl". I think the way I did things in my life - although ZERO regrets - had a big effect on my weight.
I went from high school cheerleading/gymnastics/tennis to marriage at 18, pregnant a month later, mom at 19 and then stay at home mom. I love the way I've done things, they were right for me, although these days it may seem very unconventional. But I went from being in constant motion through sports programs to the most amount of exercise was lifting a baby in the air. I didn't realize how big of a problem it was until I was a size 18 - at my heaviest. I guess I was in denial between size 5 and 18???
I've tried to lose the weight a few times but never really had much motivation. No real reason.
But here I am now. With some recent medical issues that have been brought to the surface, I know now what I need to do. It's too bad that it had to come to this though. I'm not looking to be model thin or beautiful in anyway. I just want to be healthy and live as long of a life as I can with my family. I'm ready to feel better. Anyways, I hope to get to know everyone. Sorry for my babbling.
Good luck to everyone with your own goals! You can do it!
